UPDATE: Moyashimon was licensed. Dallas, I’m waiting for my kickback.
All right, Del Rey — You’ve tackled bugs. You’ve relaunched one of the best seinen series ever translated. It’s high time you tackled the next big oddball otaku crossover from Kodansha — Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture! It’s like House meets Osmosis Jones meets 4-H. The series follows Tadayasu Sawaki, a freshman at an agricultural college who can talk to bacteria. He uses this bizarre talent to solve mysteries save his friends from deadly contagions. And as an added bonus, it’s cute as hell!

The series runs in Evening Magazine, a seinen anthology from Kodansha, but the art is definitely otaku friendly and the series just spawned an anime series that’s getting plenty of buzz thanks to the merch-friendly bacteria. I mean, how can you watch this and not have your heart melt (either from the cuteness or Ebola)?

Oh, YouTube… Looks like I’ve got a new addiction! Thanks, Forbes!
Something tells me that Dallas isn’t exactly going to be racing overseas to nab this one. Cute bacteria, though.
Jake, we’ve talked about this before, and I’m pretty sure the restraining order is supposed to prevent you from posting messages like this one.
Seriously, though, it looks cute. I’ll take a closer look (or rather, ask Mutsumi to).
This anime is amazing! And it reminds me of Michigan State University, which is NOT the University of Michigan… MSU is the agricultural school.
lol if you like Parasyte you would like Alive: The final evolution …. X3 but this does sound quite interesting though ^^ I will check it out ^^
I haven’t read Alive yet, but I picked up a copy of volume 1 in Japanese when it first came out based on the art alone. I really should pick up the English one — thanks for the reminder!

*Sigh*
I so wish to get the manga, but it’s more than impossible here. Enjoy it, people. It’s REALLY good.
Ha! I was checking this series out and then before I knew it I was on your blog. Nice article!
