Mollie, I love “Perfect World”, but I’m a tad bit disappointed that you didn’t show Jareth’s face when Sara runs away from him at the Ballroom scene. That look on his face makes my heart burn with sadness (in a good way).

If I had to choose three scenes to be the only scenes I ever watched again, I’d totally choose the ballroom scene, the escher room/finale, and the bedroom scene. And I mean at the scene very beginning just after Toby’s been stolen and Sarah meets Jareth. ( Although, if you read the original script the is one.

But, yes, I think its in the ballroom scene you see a lot of Jareth’s personality. It’s also the spot where the most fangirls are converted.

The ballroom scene is what turned me on. That, and the scene where he gives Hoggle the peach. I mean, yes he’s being a dick, but it’s just so cute that he’s jealous.
If that bedroom scene had made it to the actual movie, Henson would have been charged with mass involuntary manslaughter because the fangirls would have died from little fangirl heart-attacks.
Speaking of fangirl heart attacks, if I seriously have to wait till May for Volume three, I think I’ll have one. The anticipation is slowly killing me as it is, but to tack on an additinal six months? Why Tokyopop? Why..?

Ginger, I couldn’t agree with you more. The peach scene was also where I was like “He’s…jealous?”
I think it’s interesting, though, that that was the one scene where Hoggle ever actually talks back to Jareth. “I ain’t lost my head!”, you can almost hear him thinking “but you have if you think I’m going to hurt her”.
Speaking of fangirl heart-attacks… I was already having minor ones due to the waiting until December. If I have to wait until May, then I’m probably going to start a riot provided my heart doesn’t implode from despair.

Okay, instead of falling onto a little platform like in the movie, when Sarah jumps in the ecsher room, she lands in Jareth’s bed. Jareth tells her that he doesn’t want a prince anymore, he’d rather have a queen. She plays all coy, stringing him along (and probably giving him some naughty thoughts) Then shoots down his offer, smacks him, and grabs Toby. He starts throwing a tantrum, and she tells him that she wouldn’t be with him if he was the last goblin on earth. The owl flys through the empty window, and turns him into a Goblin. First time I read it, my mind gave birth to a million plot bunnies.
You know, after seeing your Perfect World amv, I got an idea, but now I can’t remember…

Yeah, I looked up the orignal script because I was craving new fodder for my Labyrinth addiction and I had heard it was out there. My head nearly exploded at the end; it was just so wrong and completely out of character for Jareth. Although I did love him screaming “Why do these things always happen to meeeeee?!” Don’t know why; I just took sadistic pleasure in that.

Here are the Labyrinth amvs, that I’d love to see someday, but may or may not ever exist. Partly because most of these songs are really obscure with a few exceptions and I couldn’t make a music video if my life depended on it.
“Everybody’s Fool” by Evanescence which would totally be Mizumi’s song. The lyrics would take up way too much room, but read them and imagine that song played with clips from the ballroom scene (both the manga and movie), Mizumi’s story and the flashback about the ablation…
“The Voice” by the Alan Parson Project, which would be song for Hoggle. Whenever I listen to it, I think of the scene where Hoggle is about to throw the peach into the bog and the sudden you hear Jareth’s voice. It would also work as a Sarah amv, but I think it would work best for Hoggle.
“Pussy Willow” by Jethro Tull. I think it fits Sarah because she’s very imaginative and now she a teacher.
“Anthem” by Superchick. One word: Hana. The only problem is there aren’t any videos of her live action (which is why the manga needs to become an anime once its finished…). But the song fits her kick-butt sassy attitude perfectly.
There’s lots more, but I don’t want to take up too much room on this post. It’s already freaking huge as is.

Ok, well. There’s two parts to the dream. The first part is when Sarah (my pov)solves the Labyrinth, defeats Jareth, and saves her bro. The second part, she’s starting to continue her life at school when who but a mysterious new student with beauty beyond compare arrives. The girls swoon, and even Sarah has trouble resisting.
Then Edward, the new student, suddenly becomes very interested in Sarah. His ability to read minds does not work on Sarah because of her rapid maturing in the Labyrinth. She is a complete mystery to him, so the missing link itrigues him. After weeks of hanging out, Edward falls in love with Sarah and she has simialar “feelings”. At the same time, she begins having nightmares about Jareth becoming more powerful with some type of ancient amulet or power source that keeps changing from dream to dream. When Edward reveals that he is a vampire, Sarah is at a loss of words, but still accepts him. Then, her nightmares become worse, her loved ones getting captured or hurt by Jareth: Toby, Edward, her parents. Sara decides to do some research about ancient powers, believing her dreams are a sign. Without telling Edward, Sarah leaves in order to find this amulet, which resides in a mysterious mansion rumored to be a connection to different worlds. She searches the mansion and stumbles across a secret entrance. When she finds it, Jareth reveals himself. He tells Sarah of his trick, planting the dreams in her head so that she would find the amulet for him. Then he tells her that with it, he will have the power to bend people’s wills, to make her fall in love with him. Sarah runs away in fear, yelling Edward’s name as she comes out onto the courtyard. He arrives and asks what’s going on. Then Jareth comes out and is quite suprised to see a crouching vampire in front of Sarah. It’s funny because I remeber Jareth saying “I thought you might have sluggish mortal boys chasing after you, but I never thought my competition would be a vampire!” Edward attacks, and Jareth easily dodges with his new powers. After Edward realizes he cannot defeat him, he simply picks up Sarah and runs away. As their running through a forest, Jareth appears right in front of Edward and sticks out two fingers. As they hit Edward’s chest, he tumbles forward, Sarah falls forward ahead of him breathing deeply. Edward is paralyzed by Jareth’s blow, and he looks out at Sarah. She manages to get up and staggers over to Edward. When only a foot away from Edward, Jareth appears behind Sarah and creates a force field. He laughs wickedly. She kneels down to Edwards face and tells him, “Edward, please don’t try to come after me. I f you decide to anyway, I want you to ignore anything I say that contradicts what I’m about to tell you.” Edward grimacing up at her, crying intangible tears. Sarah whispers, “I love you.” Edward eyes go wide with shock. Jareth comes up from behind, and Sarah tries to run, but he grabs her and sticks a finger on her forehead. Sarah goes limp, and they vanish into thin air. Edward, still paralyzed, screams, “NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!” That’s when I woke up.

Wow, I get off the computer for a few hours and suddenly I have volunteers for the torture division. No labyrinths though; we don’t want to make the same mistake Jareth made. However, everything else is fair game.
Concerning Maggie’s Labyrinth/Twilight dream: Jareth kicks Edwards butt….Ha! Priceless. (No, I’m not a Twilight hater, but it proves who the more manly man is, as if tights hadn’t been enough…)

Yes Gobblinize me! I’m from Spain. I found this web when I finished the volume 2 because I couldn’t wait! I needed some news about the next volume and now I visit the web every day.
Labyrinth was the first movie that I saw in english when I was 10 years old so I’m very fond of it.

Oh heaven help me, I think I’ve created a monster. But oh how I enjoy getting to express my inner-craving for violence–I mean, Labyrinth. I never realized being a rebel could be so fun.
Hmmm… According to Nichan, this counts as rabid fangirl behavior, but that makes me think of a bunch of cheerleaders dressed up in Sailor Moon mini-skirts mugging Yagami Light… We need to find another term.
Maya shouldn’t have to wait two years!!!! That is completely, totally cruel, because here we’ll be talking about the plot and inadvertently spoil it!
The thing about asking Jake for help is that if he helps us he will be allying himself with known troublemakers and Tokyopop will send their secret police after him.
Nichan, I think spamming Tokyopop with protest letters counts as torture, right? We might as well start our campaign now. (Just no threats or acts of violence until December. If we do have to invade, we’d need to do it stealthy.)

I’m starting to scare myself. But the great thing about being the commander is I can dabble in a little bit of everything. Yea!
Na, they wouldn’t discontinue the series just because of a minor insurrection. They’d probably realize what a wonderful marketing opportunity it is and come out with for products for us!
However, we should try to stay as legal as possible. So….

Yeah, I’m still on. I’m going to have to get off in a second because it’s getting harder to multitask while I’m getting sleepy (as in this is probably my last comment for the evening tired). The clock thing says it’s still fairly early on the forum, but I’m in an entirely different timezone than Sensei Jake. I never imagined I’d be organizing a rebellion during my free-time.
Well, I’m not sure that my world depends on Jake’s writings, but it would certainly traumatize me if he suddenly stopped in the middle of the story.
I’m weird like that. I was reading a series of really good books and then they just stopped; apparently the author had died of a heart attack and hadn’t even started drafting the next book. (Unlike the Wheel of Time guy.) I never cry when fictional people die. Ever. But I bawled my eyes out when I found out I’d never get to find out the ending.

has anyone considered that it’s misinformation on amazon.com’s part? they might have received the wrong release date or something…I’m not going to believe it until Jake or someone comes out and confirms it

Thank you Maggie but I’m thinking learning english better to read the comic in english and If I don’t understand anything I see the pictures and I think I will understand.

Seriously, do you think that would work? Because in my very limited experience–I send in a protest letter when they decided they weren’t going to make a movie of one of my favorite shows–unless you get a high up person, you’ll get an automated reply. Hence we’re involving Sensei Jake because he has all the connections and can get us in touch with the right people to protest to.
And technically, we’re not rebelling just yet. We’re waiting for news from Sensei Jake before we do. I don’t think it’s misinformation because when I pre-ordered my copy it said December. Needless to say, I’m also worried because does that mean I get it in December or in May?
And someone mentioned Artemis Fowl… Concerning that little snot I only have one thing to say: “MARRY ME OR THE FAIRY DIES, MR. FOWL!” Yeah, I’ve definitively got a love-hate thing going on about those books. I’m not sure whether I want to wring his neck or worship him.

o.o I like the song because I am a sad, sad child of the 80’s. And I never really liked it that much, really, but it was on the radio when I was driving home yesterday. And I was listening, and Every SINGLE line is workable into an AMV for the labyrinth. So I was admiring the irony and suggested the song to Mollie, because she ASKED what songs we’d like to see in future Labyrinth AMVs. I liked the idea of “Straight Up” because I have a sense of humor and a keen intellect which allows me to think quickly enough to see the humor in places where ordinary people would miss it.
…and that’s probably the last time I can be patient about that topic today. ^_^; You’ve been warned.

I wanna read Eoin Colfer’s newest book, Airman, but Barnes and Noble wants 18 freaking dollars for it, so I think I’ll wait for paperback >_< But I’ve read The Supernaturalist and Half-Moon Investigations, and those were both really good…Artemis Fowl will forever be my favorite though
Oh, and if you guys think the wait for the next RtL volume is bad, we AF fans have to wait about two or three years for the next book, not to mention who knows how long for an alleged film adaptation that has been talked about for almost ten years now

Mollie, the wait for another Artemis Fowl book makes me all excited. Because it’s one of those series that I love to read, but I don’t spend my time waiting for the next book to come out. It’s always a surprise somewhat to me. And I always buy it the first day it comes out too.
And that movie, well, part of me hopes that someone good gets a hold of it and the characters are all well casted. At least Eoin wrote the script, so people wouldn’t have to tinker with it that much.

Might as well post some theories while I’m wallowing in misery. If you’ve looked on Warhammer crossover, you’ve seen most of these.
1. Volume 4 might end like the King and I (note Jareth’s burnt hand so he might be dying.
2. Mizumi will hold Moppet and/or Sarah hostage in order to piss of Jareth and/or Toby.
3. There will be Skub (a given)
4. There will be a war either between Mizumi and Toby or Mizumi vs. Toby and Jareth
5. Something really bad will happen to Spittledrum.
6. Hoggle or someone from the movie will tell Toby of his sister’s venture 15 years past.
7. Sarah will develop “feelings” for Jareth. (I can’t say love because of Jake’s hint that Jareth will lie.)
8. Jareth will be slapped. (hehe… ^_^_
9. We will all rejoice when it is FINALLY released.
