Book Report Time: Flora Segunda

Lately, whenever I visit the bookstore (got to do it while this endangered species still exists!), I’m struck by how completely fantasy has taken over the Young Adult section. Five Secrets to Better Fantasy Films

dumbledore

Hollywood loves fantasy — movies about beautiful princesses, ghoulish monsters and super-powered heroes are never in short supply. So why is it that fantasy, a genre that should stir our imagination, give us nightmares or make us think, are so often the shallowest films around? This year looks to be chock full of shock and awe films of the fantastic (here’s a pretty thorough roundup courtesy of i09.com), but awe and wonder? Gobblin.net 2008 Year In Review Pt. 2: Games

numou_2
This year I did not lead Niko Bellic through Liberty City, create a Death Knight or chop up dudes with a Lancer. I don’t think I shot a single zombie.
