I’ve slipped back into my rare posting mode, and worse, have left you with naught but back-to-back rants for those who check in. I’ll get back to some regular posting soon, including (I hope, if I can get the extra books in time) a contest to celebrate the release of Return to Labyrinth 3.
I have no excuse not to post more often since as of this week, I am amongst the ever-growing throngs of the unemployed. Yup. Hopefully I’ll find myself back in salaried work or round up a liveable amount of freelance work soon, but for now I’m in a good spot and not too worried. In any case, this is the perfect time to finish the fourth and final Labby volume!
Be back soon, okay?

Hope things work out for you…The state of the economy really worries me, I’ve had so many friends fired recently, and so far there doesn’t seem to be any sort of improvement looming on the horizon.
I guess I should be lucky in that, since I don’t have a job, I can’t be fired, but I’m worried that once I finally get out of University there won’t be any jobs for me.
My Sociology teacher keeps telling us about how when he left University he had such a hard time finding a job that he ended up going back and became a teacher (He spent over 10 years in University). I don’t want to spend all this time and money to graduate, to have it all end up in the shitter. Yet I don’t want to give up so easily, but still…
Again, hopefully things work out for you Jake, although with your resume you’ll no doubt be okay…Looking forward to seeing a contest for RtL! Good luck!
I feel your pain, Jake. It’s a scary, scary world we’re living in. I’m not unemployed anymore, after a year of being jobless, but it’s not steady work, and the few hours I had are being cut back on. *sigh* Hopefully something will come through for you soon.
Even college graduate are having a hard time. I’m a free-lance web designer and I’m struggling to get a job so now I’m in college again. I’m going for my teaching certificate and praying to God that I could at least get a decent job.
OMG! That’s horrible, Jake!
(I swear this has been a terrible week for everyone!)
It’s so scary right now. I hope everything turns around for you. I hope the economy turns around for everyone.
I keep you in my prayers and thoughts. I hope the new volumes bring in the revenue to keep you afloat. I’ll keep plugging them on my end… you keep the best parts coming. I can’t wait until May!
Ah, good luck
Oh, that stinks! The economy bites… I’m scared that once I get out of college or wherever I’m going (thinking about joining the Navy via ROTC), I won’t have a job… Though if I go through the Navy, I should be okay… But really, it just stinks all around. You are all in my prayers, too. The Powers That Be can turn things for the better, I’m sure.
On a lighter note, I’m excited for the contest and for RtL! I hope we won’t have to wait all the way until May; perhaps it’ll come out early in some stores? Who knows… One can always hope!
This economoy is kinda on the edge. I can’t believe how many commercials I’ve seen that have said “With the economy as it is, it’s time to invest in ___!” Work has been hard on me too, just trying to earn a little cash before the finals.
I am psyched about the contest. I’m guessing we will guess the cover of volume 4? Or maybe something new?
I know more people than I can count who have lost their jobs recently and many of the rest of us are just stuck in jobs we don’t love until—if, when—better ones become available. The arts and humanities seem to be the hardest hit as well. My employer is on an at times frighteningly tight budget; we have had to cut back in ways I had not imagined we would have to. I am just trying to stay hopeful for the future.
One big reason why I love reading fantasy books. Once you are into a book, your mind leaves the reality and into a fantasy world where you don’t have to worry about paying bills, credit bills, school tutition.
Wow, Jake. I’m sorry to hear about your job situation. Hang in there. You’re awesome and talented and things will work out. Best.
itis sad that ther are only 4 volumes to RtL. I’m use to reading long searys of manga’s.(ex. Fruits Basket)
I wonder what I will read next…
Sweet. A contest!
And don’t worry, your health and finding a decent way of living is all what’s important. Nobody can be expected to make a lot of money nowadways.
Ugh, it’s still a month and a half till Labby #3 comes out!!! I REALLY need to know what Jareth does when he shows up at Sarah’s place!!!
Thanks for all the well wishes, everybody!
