Happy Holidays! Love the clips, but now I have Forbidden Colours stuck in my head again . . . such a beautifully haunting song.
Merry Christmas. I guess no one has a youtube version of Jim Henson’s The Christmas toy up? It’s also from 1986.
Henson Company actually put that up on their own official channel. I didn’t post it as it wasn’t something I really grew up with and doesn’t hold a special place in my heart, although I should probably watch it and make room for it!
I think you’d like a Christmas Toy if you haven’t seen it yet but you might want to look for the uncut version. The DVD release is missing the intro and closing done by Kermit. The plot was later reused… I mean ‘paid homage to’ in Toy story.
A plush tiger is afraid of being replaced by a new space toy. It’s extremely sweet. I had just turned four when it first aired and video taped it. For years I had the VHS tape with the Kraft advertisements.
The ‘Old friends / New friends’ song used in the Muppet Family Christmas was written for the Christmas Toy first.
